Have a Great Time at the Fair

Are you looking for something to do this weekend? How about driving to the Wayne County Fair in Honesdale, PA! Promising to provide that family getaway or just some fun with friends, the fair is in its 152nd year and runs through this Saturday, August 9th. If you haven’t seen this video that went viral, it should tell you that “apparently” the fair is an amazing time! In this post we will give you some information on the fair as well as where to camp if you plan on taking your RV.

What to Do

The Wayne County Fair has been going on since last week, but this weekend features some great events as well as the regular fair happenings. Throughout the weekend participants can participate in carnival  rides, games, exhibits and live entertainment  and music as well as some special events!

Friday

On Friday get ready for the Diesel and Semi Truck Pull at 7:00 p.m. This free local competition is sure to bring excitement to the track and is free! Get to the track early and grab your seat.

Saturday

Saturday features more racing fun for all ages! At 1:00 p.m. the "Get-R-Done" Lawnmower Race takes place. If you have never seen lawnmower racing, be sure to come to this free sanctioned race! The race will feature 10-15 lawn mowers and drivers who will race for trophies, prizes and bragging rights. Specific rules and regulations must be followed for lawn mower racing, but you can be sure that these aren't your typical lawn mowers. In the nightcap and final event of the fair, KSR Motorsports presents Monster Truck Freestyle at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for the event are just $12 for adults and $8 for youth 12 and under. Monster Trucks featured this year include Stinger, Toxic, XDP, Backdraft and Instigator! If you are a monster truck fan, you won't want to miss this freestyle show that is sure to feature tons of action packed excitement the whole family can enjoy.

Camping

If you are bringing your RV to the fair, there are plenty of lodging and campground options for you and your crew to choose from! Cherry Ridge Campsites are located right in Honesdale and feature numerous primitive campsites as well as RV sites. Located right on the lake, 30 and 50 Amp RV hook-up sites are available right on the water so you can come home to a calm and peaceful environment.
